The Photo Village is proud to offer high-end negative, transparency and reflective art scanning at our store.
Compared to other establishments that only offer Imacon 646 or 848 machines, Photo Village's Hasselblad X5 scanner can triple your productivity.
The Hasselblad X5 scanner laps those inferior machines, not only with its 300 MB/second rate, but also with its 4.9 exposure range.
Here is some information about the Hasselblad X5 Scanner:
The Hasselblad Flextight X5 Scanner is the top model in the Flextight scanner series and features the best of all worlds. Ease of use, incomparable quality, and unique batch-scanning capabilities all packed in a classic and characteristic design. Flextight scanners are all built to the same formula. A vertical optical system allows the CCD to face downwards, creating a glass-free optical path between the original and the lens. The patented virtual drum solution produces optimal focusing across the whole of the original, and the flexible holder guarantees easy mounting combined with safe and cautious handling of your originals.
Virtual Drum and Vertical Optical System
A vertical optical system allows the CCD to face downwards, creating a glass-free optical path between the original and the lens. The patented virtual drum solution produces optimal focusing across the entire original, and the flexible holder guarantees easy mounting and safe, secure handling of your originals.
Dust Removal Features
The scanner is equipped with a light condenser that eliminates the effect of small dust particles, which are normally invisible unless you zoom 100% into your image. They can be the most annoying and time-consuming part of scanning, but with this unit they are removed without losing speed or quality. Additionally, you can add the FlexTouch dust removal feature, which will remove dust and small scratches from your scans without having any impact on the sharpness at all.
The 3F File and Workflow
When selecting the 3F file format as the automatic scan mode, the images are scanned at a specified resolution of 16 bits per color. In this way the full range of the original is extracted from the scan. The 3F file is never altered but will act as a "preview scan" when you open it later, allowing you to re-do all operations and change whatever parameters you wish. This is exactly like re-scanning but without the need for the film original. Furthermore, every time you save a file from the 3F format the history of your decisions is embedded inside the 3F file, which will enable you to repeat whatever you have been doing whenever you choose.
Why pay more for less?
We offer time on our machine at discount rates. Customers scheduling time on our machine should organize their images beforehand so as to maximize the amount of scans. It is also required that they bring a USB or FireWire hard drive to transport their files to their own workspace. It is not practical to burn CDs or DVDs of these large files. In the rare instance when a customer loses or damages his files after he or she leaves, we keep backups for at least 48 hours at our store to cover for this possible eventuality.
We have two self-serve rates:
$300 for a 7-hour full day
$200 for a 3-hour half day
Occasionally customers approach us with large-volume scanning projects. Our expert staff has done thousands of scans for our clients who need them for digitizing their life archives or photographers needing help converting their film projects into a digital medium.
Our full-service rates:
$50 each for up to five
$40 each up to ten
$30 each up to twenty
$20 each above twenty
We are here for any questions regarding this service. Please call 212.989.1252 to schedule an appointment. We require a full deposit via credit card at least 48 hours before your desired time. Time slots fill up quickly, so we recommend calling at least one week in advance.
